All About Dolphins

This camp introduces future marine mammalogists to the world of caring for and training dolphins! Your camper will learn about dolphin anatomy through a mock dolphin stranding, examine dolphin diets as we explore Clearwater Marine Aquarium’s food preparation area, and participate in dolphin enrichment through our underwater viewing windows. Campers will enjoy three days of snorkeling combined with indoor activities, including a private dolphin presentation, just for our summer camps!

Jr. Animal Encounter

Want to learn more about Clearwater Marine Aquarium’s rescued residents? Now’s your chance to take a picture with a dolphin, create a toy for an otter, and so much more! Discover how our animals live and play each day by building enrichment devices in the classroom, and then sharing them with Clearwater Marine Aquarium’s critters! Campers will learn about animal diets by visiting our food preparation facility and participating in a fish feeding! Your camper will even spend some time interacting with a Clearwater Marine Aquarium dolphin in a meet & greet session! This is one camp experience they’re sure to remember forever! Interactions subject to change due to animal availability.

Jr. Eco Explorers

Visit and learn about five of Florida’s coastal ecosystems! Explore mangrove and barrier islands by boat and spend three days snorkeling through sea grass beds. Travel to parks and nature preserves to experience freshwater and swamp ecology. Campers will discuss the different plants and animals we find as we discover the water cycle in action and learn about the Florida aquifer!

Outdoor Adventures

Jump onboard with Clearwater Marine Aquarium for an instructional introduction to kayaking! This camp involves an extra day of kayaking for our older campers, with a total of three kayaking excursions! Then, enjoy two full days of snorkeling experiences as we travel to different sea grass beds and sand flats aboard Clearwater Marine Aquarium’s pontoon boats to explore Clearwater’s estuary ecosystems.

Jr. Scientist

Invertebrate anatomy is the name of the game in this camp! Campers will learn by doing as they dissect and discover the body parts of sea stars, sea urchins, clams, and more! Then examine these animals in their underwater habitats as we follow up each dissection with a snorkeling or boating excursion! Campers will search out the spiny, spiky, and spineless in our local estuary as we introduce comparative anatomy in the classroom!

Sharks, Rays, and Skates

Get up-close and personal with everyone’s favorite ocean predators! Discover what separates sharks and rays from their bony cousins while performing dissections. Sort fact from fiction and learn why the ocean wouldn’t be the same without sharks! Enjoy four days of snorkeling to see their natural habitats. Then, meet their stingray cousins at our touch tank and even participate in a ray feeding session!
